Hit the Peg, Turn it Over and Try Again

Children learn to sort geometric shapes and develop fine motor skills at the same time. Students use the Shape Sorting Pounder tactually by touching the desired peg, moving the fingers out of the way, and then hitting the peg with the hammer. As adults, they will use this same important skill to use a real hammer and real nails. Some people refer to this skill as hand memory.
