Now Print and Braille Readers Can Read Books Together
BrailleInk.’s new, unique format preserves the original books’ print and illustration in the top portion of the page and adds braille in the bottom portion. In addition, directly above each braille cell is the corresponding print character(s). Thus, braille readers’ hands don’t cover anything that sighted readers are trying to see, and it’s easy for anyone (e.g. parents, mainstream teachers, siblings) to tell what the braille says. The books are board books, with the braille embossed directly on the print pages.
In addition, there is a printed braille glossary in the back of each book that presents the alphabet, numbers and punctuation. Books with contracted braille also present the contractions that appear in that book and very basic rules of their usage.
